Police News

California Laws Pertaining to E-Bikes - Electric bicycles, or E-Bikes, have become increasingly popular in recent years and we have seen an uptick in ridership here in Mill Valley. While it is great to see so many people using E-bikes, we continue to receive complaints regarding unsafe riding. Please take a moment to review of the rules of the road so you can stay safe and avoid a costly ticket! | Check out our E-Bike "Rules of the Road" video.

2022 Gun Buyback Program - Join us on Saturday, June 4, 2022 between 9 am and 1 pm at the Marin County Sheriff's Office parking lot for the annual Gun Buyback event. The program usually collects hundreds of firearms and large volumnes of ammunition for destruction. Learn more about this important community safety event.

Soft Story Retrofit Program

At their meeting on May 9, 2022, the City Council received a presentation from Director of Planning and Building Patrick Kelly and Consultant David Bonowitz on “soft-story” retrofit programs and legislative options for Council to consider. In an earthquake, "soft story" apartments and condominiums are most susceptible to shaking damage. View the Report and Presentation.
