City Lifts Evacuation Order for Area 2 – Cooper Avenue from Ashby Road to Highway 59

Merced, Calif. (January 16, 2023) – The City of Merced has lifted the evacuation order for Area 2, which includes Cooper Ave from Ashby Rd to Highway 59. Anyone entering the area is asked to enter cautiously, obey all traffic signs, detours, and roadblocks, and stay away from flooded roads. The Area 2 Map is attached for reference.

As the storm continues through the Merced area, residents are advised to avoid flooded roads, stay out of creek waters, and flood basins, and stay off Bear Creek banks and the bike path.

An Evacuation Center remains open at the Merced County Fairgrounds, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
