Healdsburg Community Services and Corazón  Healdsburg are proud to partner on our first ever Community Posada! Las Posadas, (Spanish: “The Inns”) is a festival celebrated in Mexico and some parts of the United States between December 16 and 24 that commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus.

Las Posadas begins each year on December 16. This year, the date is close to the beginning of the Jewish festival Hanukkah (December 18) so we are bringing the two events together for a multi-cultural experience for our community!

Join us at the Plaza on Friday December 16 as we feature traditions from Mexican and Jewish cultures including food, music, and gifts. We’ll have a traditional Las Posadas procession through the downtown area, learn about the importance of Hanukkah to our Jewish community, and enjoy traditional foods like pozole, tamales, latkes, sufganiyot, and gilt. We’ll also have a special musical performance and the local car clubs will be giving away toys to kids.

This event is entirely free thanks to the support of Healdsburg Community Service, Corazon Healdsburg, and our sponsors the north bay area car clubs, Little Saint, and more TBA!
