El Cajon, CA – Last week, the City of El Cajon became just the second City in San Diego County, and only one of a handful of cities in California, to launch SolarAPP+, an automated permit review applications for permitting new residential rooftop solar and storage system projects.

The new app lowers the cost for permit reviews and expedites installations for solar projects. By using artificial intelligence, SolarAPP+ makes it possible to obtain a residential solar permit in as little as 15 minutes anytime of the day or week, and entirely online. The streamlined process aims to encourage property owners to invest in generating renewable and sustainable energy projects.

Developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory with support from the U.S. Department of Energy, SolarAPP+ provides a web-based portal that streamlines and automates permit reviews.
