Early Voting is Underway!

Avoid November 8 Election Day crowds and vote early through Friday, November 4! Coppell Town Center, 255 Parkway Blvd., is an Early Voting location for Dallas County residents. The closest Denton County Early Voting location to Coppell is Flower Mound Community Activity Center, 1200 Gerault Rd. See additional Early Voting locations, learn what’s on the ballot and more by visiting coppelltx.gov/election.

As part of the election, Coppell voters will be asked to consider two propositions concerning the allocation of sales and use taxes paid on goods and services purchased within city limits. Reauthorization of the sales tax collection will NOT result in an increase to the sales tax rate.

Proposition A
Whether or not to continue the adoption of one-fourth of one percent sales and use tax to provide revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets for a four (4) year period.

The City’s Streets Infrastructure Maintenance Fund is funded by a one-fourth of one percent sales tax established and reauthorized by Coppell voters. The quarter-cent sales tax that supports this fund provides a stable source of revenue for the maintenance of City infrastructure and projects such as street and sidewalk repairs, sign and signal maintenance, pavement improvements, and ADA improvements.

Proposition B
Whether or not to continue the adoption of one-fourth of one percent sales and use tax for crime reduction programs for a ten (10) year period.

The City’s Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) is supported by a one-fourth of one percent sales tax established and reauthorized by Coppell voters. The quarter-cent sales tax that supports this fund helps ensure the safety of the community and allows public safety to take preventative actions that decrease the chances of a large-scale incident.

Congratulations Strategic Financial Engagement Department!

Make A Child Smile 2022 Kicks Off November 1!

For more than 25 years, the City of Coppell has sponsored the “Make a Child Smile” holiday program, encouraging community members to donate gifts to deserving children in Coppell ISD. In 2021, gifts were purchased for approximately 400 children in Coppell who may not have otherwise received a present. Please help us once again Make a Child Smile by participating in this special Coppell program.

From November 1 – 30, those wishing to participate can visit makeachildsmilecoppell.com to select a virtual ornament that includes the child’s gift preferences and clothing sizes. Those needing assistance with choosing an ornament are encouraged to stop by the City Manager’s Office.

Once items are purchased, please return the wrapped gifts with a tag including the family number and age of the child attached to the City Manager’s Office no later than 5 pm, Monday, December 5. The program’s goal is to provide at least one toy and one article of clothing for each child. City staff volunteers will deliver the gifts prior to Christmas.
