Finance is Now Strategic Financial Engagement

The City of Coppell’s Finance Department is known for many things: consistently developing and presenting an annual budget and financial report that exceed standards and maintaining an AAA bond rating with both Moody’s and Standards and Poor’s to name a few. However, behind the scenes, much of what the department does involves engaging with residents and strategizing with other departments to outline the best approach to achieve community goals. To better reflect the team’s full array of services and to better align with the City of Coppell’s culture, the department decided to usher in the 2022-2023 fiscal year with a new name: Strategic Financial Engagement.

“The name change communicates that we are more than numbers, policies, and processes,” said Director of Strategic Financial Engagement Kim Tiehen. “Many of us start off a new year with resolutions to improve some aspect of our lives. This Fiscal New Year we changed our name and are committed to engaging with our residents and strategizing with other departments to better serve our community.”

While the name has changed, the service quality of the Strategic Financial Engagement Department remains the same. Visit coppelltx.gov/transparency to learn more and explore the City of Coppell’s financial documents.

Holiday Scavenger Hunt
Through January 6, 2023

Holiday fun is hidden all over the city! To participate in the hunt, simply solve the clues, find each of the five holiday ambassadors hidden around town, pose for a photo with each, and then upload the photos to social media with the hashtag #coppellholidays! Be sure to tag the City of Coppell on FacebookInstagram and Twitter. There are multiple holiday-themed ambassadors hidden around Coppell, but only a special few will earn Coppell's holiday enthusiasts a prize, so consider the clues carefully!

One clue will be posted to the City of Coppell’s FacebookInstagram, and Twitter pages each day this week. All of the clues will be posted at coppelltx.gov/holidays by the end of the day on December 9.

Once you’ve solved the clues, taken photos, posted and tagged accordingly, stop by Town Center, 255 Parkway Blvd., to claim your prize (while supplies last)! Happy hunting!

Enjoy the Fa La La La Lights!

Check back on Facebook the afternoon of Monday, December 19 to see the results.
