Please Help Us Conserve Water!
Coppell used 18 million gallons of water, Thursday, July 28, which is 97% of our available water. We are contractually allowed to use only 18.5 million gallons, so we got dangerously close to that threshold. If we use more than this amount, we’ll need to increase our demand from Dallas Water Utilities, the City’s water supplier, which will result in an increased cost for all of the city’s customers. If this happens, we’ll be locked into contracting for the new water quantity and increased rate for at least five years.

Currently, the Coppell community is welcome to irrigate UP TO 2 days per week with no outside watering, except hand watering, permitted between 10 am and 6 pm.

The City has not yet implemented Stage 2 of its Water Conservation Plan, but water supply levels continue to inch closer to their limits. If this usage trend continues, it may be necessary for the City to institute day-of-the-week watering restrictions in accordance with the Drought Contingency Plan meaning residents would only be able to irrigate on certain days.

To avoid mandatory watering restrictions and potential water rate increases, we need you to reduce water consumption TODAY. We typically see higher usage over the weekends, and we run the risk of not being able to maintain supply and service levels if we are unable to fill our tanks due to high use.
