Other Updates

Barrett Gardeners Grow Plants & Community

The Barrett Community Garden is home to 26 resident plots, providing a space to grow flowers, vegetables, and community! As part of the garden's maintenance, each plot holder commits to 3 garden cleanup days annually, serving as time to meet fellow gardeners and improve the shared space. Garden plots are extremely popular and have an average 2-3 year wait; to get on the waitlist, please email [email protected].

And did you know there's another community garden just down the road at O'Donnell Park? For more information, please contact the Homeview Neighborhood Association (@homeviewneighborhood) via their Facebook page or NextDoor.

Bike Safety Day Recap

Many thanks to all those who helped put together a fun Bike Safety Day at Barrett Community Center this past Saturday! The Belmont Police Department, Silicon Valley Bike Coalition, San Mateo County Office of Education, Belmont Bikes, and Belmont Parks & Rec all came together for a great event.

Movies in the Parks Continue

Last month, Belmont Parks and Recreation kicked off the 2022 Movies in the Parks series with a showing of Encanto at Twin Pines Park and Luca at McDougal Park (our first ever on the road movie). We had over 300 attendees come together for both of these community events! A special shoutout to Belmont 4-H for providing popcorn and other refreshments every year.

We hope you join us for our final Movie in the Park this season: Hocus Pocus, to be shown Friday, October 14th at Barrett Park. Check our social media for updates on the movie start time. Thank you for the continued support!

Coastal Cleanup Day

Join the City of Belmont Saturday, September 17th as we help to keep our shorelines clean of debris that harms wildlife and our health. Cleanup will take place 9 am-12 pm. Check-in begins at City Hall (One Twin Pines Lane) at 8 am. We encourage volunteers to bring their own gloves and cleanup supplies; limited cleanup supplies will be available at time of check-in.
