City of Angleton Finalist in TML Municipal Excellence Awards

The City of Angleton is delighted to be recognized as a finalist in the 2022 Texas Municipal League (TML) Municipal Excellence Awards.  

The TML Excellence Awards recognize and encourage the achievements of Texas cities in meeting the challenge of municipal government. Innovative problem-solving, excellence in management, increasing citizen participation, and reaching toward higher service levels are all daily occurrences in Texas cities, and they deserve recognition. This awards program seeks out the best of these programs to honor. It is through the recognition of the best of the best that all Texas cities share and learn from these achievements.

The City of Angleton is a finalist for projects across the city that are having an immediate impact on the quality of life in Angleton. Solar lights, the construction of a new, 45-acre park (Lakeside Park), purchasing land for a special park named for the late Abigail Arias, establishing the Peach Street Butterfly Garden, addressing ADA Compliance, numerous park upgrades, completing a Park & Recreation Standards Manual, and building a plaza addition for the Recreation Center. As indicated by the investments of time and money, the City of Angleton believes there will be a long-term impact on the community.

All finalists will be recognized during the 2022 TML Annual Conference and Exhibition, and winners will be announced live during the awards presentation.
