Hello,

I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween. I've included below some good Halloween safety tips from ACPD.

Last week a community member had the unfortunate experience of being the victim of a catalytic converter theft during broad daylight. The victim confronted the suspects, at which time they pointed a handgun at the victim and ordered them back into their residence. I’m happy to announce one of the suspects has been arrested and given a full confession of the crime he committed. Detectives diligently follow up on leads to get the second suspect in custody. Thankfully the victim was not physically harmed during the theft.

ACPD would like to remind the community to avoid confronting suspects during property theft as the suspects are oftentimes armed with weapons. It is better to be a good witness and get license plates, vehicle descriptions, and suspect descriptions. Even using a cell from a safe distance to take pictures and video while calling 911.

Please take the time to participate in the community safety survey included below.

Respectfully,

Rick Greenberg
Chief of Police
