Government and Politics

October 17, 2022

From: City Of American Canyon

Hello,

Election Day is November 8, 2022. By now, you should have received your ballot in the mail. A secure ballot drop-off box is currently located outside the main entrance to City Hall for your convenience (4381 Broadway). If you still need to register to vote or want to find out about the ballot measures and candidates, click below. You don't have to complete the entire ballot for your voice to be heard. There are three candidates running for two open City Council seats and two local measures, start there and work your way to the rest of the ballot.

The City's Annual Paving Project is in full swing. Our Public Works team has provided updated information about which streets are being rehabilitated now and why others are not, funding sources for streets maintenance, and more projects coming soon to subdivisions on the west side of town. Read in-depth the information they've provided on our website HERE.

PG&E to Replace Transmission Towers within American Canyon

On Monday, October 10, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) began a project to replace two transmission towers within the City of American Canyon. This is part of a larger project to replace a total of nine towers along a transmission line that runs nearly 4 miles from Napa County to Fairfield.

To ensure electric service to customers isn’t impacted, PG&E crews will build a temporary circuit alongside the current power line. That entails pulling the existing conductor onto newly installed wooden poles.

PG&E will use helicopters to help build the temporary circuit, flying to and from the landing zone located at Lynch Canyon Open Space Property.

All scheduled work will occur weekdays Mondays through Friday between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

After the temporary circuit is built, PG&E will begin the process to replace the structures.

PG&E appreciates everyone’s patience. For more information, visit our Construction Updates webpage.
