Celebration of Life Paul Brennan
In anticipation of a large crowd, a Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, October 7th at 4:00 pm at Kailua United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow. A visitation begins at 3:00 pm. The service will also be available online: https://shorturl.at/BFMR6

Saturday Morning Hike
Join us for a churchwide hike at Friendship Garden in Kaneohe on Saturday, October 7. Parking is limited, so we will meet at the church at 8:30am and drive together. This half-mile loop winds through pine trees and bamboo forest, past banyan trees, and up the hill to a beautiful view of Kaneohe Bay. It's a special place! Come commune with God in nature and fellowship with your CCU 'ohana. https://friendshipgarden.org/

Celebration of Life Kathleen Summers
A celebration of life for Kathy Summers is scheduled for October 2nd at 3:00pm at LDS, Keolu Chapel, 1461 Kanapuu Dr., Kailua. Doors will open at 2pm for family meet and greet.

Wednesday Women's Fellowship 
Pastor Kate and Sara Nayeb-Hashemi are organizing a weekly women's fellowship group. We will pray with one another and hold open space for questions of life and faith. Bring a chair and we will meet in the courtyard outside the Sanctuary every Wednesday at 6:00 pm. Come join us. All women are welcome!

2023 Honolulu Pride Parade
CCU will be attending the Honolulu Pride Parade on October 21st. If you'd like to join us, meet in the church parking lot at 8:00 am, and a chartered bus will take us to Waikiki together. If you'd prefer to meet us in Waikiki, we will be dropped off in front of the Ohana East hotel around 8:45 am. Everyone who attends will get a free CCU t-shirt! You can pick up your shirt ahead of time in the church office, or receive it the day of the parade. Contact Angela Gough with any questions: [email protected], (808) 260-8006.

Windward Artists Guild
Come "meet the artists" of the Windward Artists Guild on Sunday, October 8th in the exhibit hall at Ho'omaluhia from 12:30-3:30. Enjoy beautiful pieces by local artists, including our own Jan Stiles. https://windwardartistsguild.org/wag-member-show-2023-at-ho%ca%bbomaluhia-botanical-garden

Donations For Maui Wildfire Relief
Maui county officials are asking for monetary donations while they work to sort and distribute the material goods that have already been donated. Here are a few options for financial donations:

- Hawai?i People's Fund: Maui Aloha

- Maui Food Bank

- Maui United Way

Hawai'i American Red Cross
The American Red Cross of Hawai'i is there on Maui, providing shelter and comfort to those affected by the massive fires.

We are continuing to support the St. Anthony Food Pantry in Kailua which provides food to houseless and low income people on the Windward side. Please bring your food donations and fill the basket!
Requested items include: canned chicken & beef soups, rice, boxed cereals, bars, canned fruits, fruit cups, canned spaghetti & ravioli, spaghetti & sauce, and chicken or beef ramen.

CCU Sunday Parking

The CCU Council approved a month-to-month agreement with the FarmLovers Market  for use of the makai side of the CCU parking lot on Sunday mornings 8 am to 12 pm. The CCU lot will serve as overflow parking for the weekly market now located at Adventist Health Castle.  For more info about the market:
