Center Theatre for the Performing Arts - New Movies and, just maybe, a new projector

Arts and Entertainment

September 12, 2022

From: Center Theatre for the Performing Arts

Hello fans and friends of the Center Theatre,

You may remember we were talking about getting a new projector for our main auditorium late last year. We got some grants and some donations (thank you!) and it was scheduled to happen last February. Then, it got pushed back to May….then to “later in 2022”…and miraculously, here we are later in 2022 and it looks like it is happening! We won’t have movies in the main auditorium October 9th through the 13th to install our new Barco Projector. Honestly, you won’t see much change in the movie itself, but our new laser projector will be much more reliable and cost us less to operate. We’re still planning to upgrade the sound system to Dolby 7.1, but that’s still “later this year.”

Before then, we have some wonderful new movies on the schedule. Today we start with Beast, and The Invitation. Friday the 16th we have The Woman King and Three Thousand years of Longing. Also next week we start the 3rd year of our free Highschool Afterschool Art and Theater Program.

If you didn’t see the announcement earlier in the week, we’re holding auditions for our winter production next weekend. The show is Kris Kringle the Musical and we’re looking for actors of all ages and experience levels to bring some holiday joy to the community…and to each other! All the details about the auditions are right here.

OK, that’s enough from me. More info and events are below and we wouldn’t be here without you - so thanks! Hope to see you soon at the Center Theatre.
