Biden-Harris Administration Supports Rural Utahns with $1.8 Million in REAP Benefits

Salt Lake City - The Utah Democratic Party celebrates the Biden-Harris Administration’s April 1st announcement that 1.8 Million Dollars of Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) funding will be allocated to fund 17 projects across Cache, Iron, Millard, Rich, San Juan, Summit, Wasatch, and Wayne counties.

The projects that will be funded include:

  • $56,318 to help a Millard County Ranch purchase and install a solar array, which will completely replace their energy use and save over $3,400 annually. 
  • $83,812 for a small business in Wayne County to purchase and install a solar array, which will completely replace their energy use and save over $5,200 annually.
  • $245,432 for an RV Park in San Juan County to purchase and install a solar array, which will completely replace their energy use and save over $17,651 annually.
  • $71,775 for a hardware store  in San Juan County to purchase and install a solar array, which will completely replace their energy use and save over $4,395 annually.

These investments, directed by President Biden, will serve to reduce Utahns annual energy costs by an average of 78%. “This funding confirms that President Biden is the only Presidential candidate who stands for rural Utahns,” UDP Chair Diane Lewis said.
