LIBRARY UPDATES FOR JUNE

Holiday Closure: Monday, June 20 -Town observance of Juneteenth.

The Library will be closed Sundays through the summer.

Curbside service continues. Contact the Circulation Desk at 781.275.9440 if you have questions. Please note, there is no curbside service when the Library is closed. 

JUNETEENTH: 

Juneteenth celebrates the freedom of enslaved people in the United States at the end of the Civil War. For more than 150 years, African American communities across the country have observed this holiday. In 2021 Juneteenth was made a federal holiday. The day is also celebrated outside the United States, being used by organizations in a number of countries to recognize the end of slavery and to honor the culture and achievements of African Americans. "Read Beyond the Beaten Path" with the BFPL and Beanstack.

There's something for everyone with activities to complete, books to read, badges to earn, and grand prizes to win at the end of the trail.

Summer reading programs begin July 1 and run through August 31. Go online to beanstack to register. Compile your reading list, write reviews, recommend a book or read what other participants have been reading.

For specific help with setting up email or social media accounts, help with new tech devices such as laptops, tablets, phones, etc, or just help on how to use library resources such as OverDrive, Libby or Hoopla, patrons can book a half-hour appointment with our Head of Reference Services.

Patrons should contact the Reference Desk at 781-275-9440 ext 3 to book a slot. Slots available: 7-7:30 pm / 7:30-8 pm / 8-8:30 pm

Phones, tablets, and laptops are all welcome - just be sure to bring all necessary passwords.
