Here at Aullwood the peak time to view fall colors is projected to be around October 20th. Get out and enjoy the changing colors of Ohio’s 120 tree species! Learn about “The Troll That Hatched an Egg” by Thomas Dambo and meet our troll friends!

Aullwood has a variety of pasture raised meats and as well as farm fresh eggs for all of your cooking! Our pork products include brats, smoked ham, and bacon. We also have chicken, duck and quail eggs for sale! You can find whole milk and chocolate milk from Fresh Start Dairy. It is always free admission to shop in the Nature Store. Accessible Birding Outing to Celebrate Birdability Week

Thursday, October 20 - 2:30 - 4:30 pm - Birdability Week is a celebration of birders with disabilities and other health concerns, and an opportunity to share resources and ideas to help the birding community be accessible, inclusive and welcoming to everyone and every body! Join us for a leisurely birding experience - we will start in front of the Marie S. Aull Education Center and bird along the Cardinal Trail for approximately 0.4 mile. While high diversity of birds or numbers are not expected, this area is a good place to get long, clear looks at birds in a variety of environments – woodland, wetland, prairie, and lots of edge habitat, which birds favor.

We welcome all people who identify as disabled, neurodivergent, and/or chronically ill. This outing is made for and led by birders with disabilities. Beginning birders are welcome! Extra binoculars and a scope will be available. The location’s accessibility features can be found on the Aullwood Audubon Birdability Site Review on Birdability's Map (https://gis.audubon.org/birdability/) to help you decide if you’d like to attend; please note that this trail has some steeper inclines which could present a challenge for those using mobility devices.

Outing is limited to 12 participants, who may be accompanied by up to 2 people to assist you. This outing is free, but pre-registration is required. To register, email [email protected].

Distance: .4 mile. Exact distance will be determined by the needs of each participant.

Pacing: Slow, with frequent stops at benches to view and listen for birds. We will go at the pace of the slowest member of the group. Participants can request a break at any time.

Trail Tread: Asphalt and cement pavers.

Bathrooms: ADA compliant bathrooms are available inside the Nature Center at the start/end of the route.

Parking: Large parking lot with three ADA parking spaces, and one accessible van spot.

Public Transit:  Aullwood is not on an RTA bus line.

Rest Stops: Multiple benches are available along the route.

Service Animals: Certified Service Animals are welcome, but must remain on leash.

Please feel free to email [email protected] with any additional questions you may have about this event.

Fall Foliage Walk (Everyone)

Saturday October 22: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Autumn brings shorter days and cooler temperatures; trees get less direct sunlight and the chlorophyll in the leaves start breaking down. Join us on this leisurely stroll as we explore Aullwood’s trees to see the changing colors. Please dress to be outside. We will meet outside of the nature center. Free for members of Aullwood, NAS with membership card; non-members may register and pay our general admission prices to participate. Please register online. (Center)
