General admission is $12/adults 13 to 64, $10/ Seniors 65+, Active-Duty Military and Veterans, $8/children 4 to 12 and children 3 and under FREE unless otherwise noted with an asterisk (*). Members of Friends of Aullwood, National Audubon Society and ANCA are admitted free.  Please note that Aullwood walks are weather dependent and are cancelled if there is thunder, lightning or heavy rain. Access to Aullwood and Aullwood trails is at both the Center and Farm Tuesday - Sunday. Aullwood Center programs begin at 1000 Aullwood Road. Aullwood Farm Programs begin at 9101 Frederick Pike. Aullwood is pleased to announce the opening of a brand new wheelchair accessible boardwalk in our Muskrat Marsh! It is 800 linear feet of winding boardwalk through a beautiful marsh habitat. The boardwalk is called the “Wood Duck Trail”. This boardwalk connects directly with our paved Cardinal Trail near the Nature Center as well as Warbler Way which is the main trail to the farm.  Enjoy a hike on the colorful trails to see the warm fall colors at Aullwood!

Aullwood has a variety of pasture raised meats and as well as farm fresh eggs for all of your cooking needs! Our pork products include pork chops, smoked ham, and bacon. We have added frozen beef products including ground beef and patties! We also have chicken, duck and quail eggs for sale. You can find whole milk and chocolate milk from Fresh Start Dairy as well as hydroponically grown greens from Frank’s House of Greens! It is always free admission to shop in the Nature Store. Make purchases with credit card, check or cash.

The Troll That Hatched an Egg Exhibit (Everyone)

Aullwood Audubon is proud to host “The Troll That Hatched an Egg”, an exhibit from the internationally renowned recycle artist Thomas Dambo! Bo, Bodil, Bibbi and their troll-sized bird nest have come to life at Aullwood and are ready for your visit. Learn more and plan your trip at https://aullwood.audubon.org/trolls now. Birding the Farm (Everyone)

October 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Join Environmental Educator Sam Romeo on a weekly afternoon bird walk at Aullwood Farm, 9101 Frederick Pike. Thoughout the year, a variety of birds can be found on the trails and in the pastures and habitats at the Farm. We will meet in front of the Farm Discovery Center for our “Birding the Farm” walk. Binoculars are recommended. Free for members of Aullwood and NAS/ANCA with membership card; non-members may register and pay our general admission prices to participate. Adult Member Discovery Walks (Members Only)

October 5, 12, 19, 26 – 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. Bring your binoculars and delight in a weekly walk along Aullwood’s trails spotting birds and exploring the seasonal fall changes taking place at Aullwood. These walks are a benefit for Aullwood and National Audubon Society members and there is no cost to attend. Meet on the main sidewalk of the Nature Center at 7:55 a.m. (Center)

Farm Charm at Aullwood (Everyone Welcome)

Saturday, October 7, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. What charms you most about Aullwood Farm? Would it be our historical bank barn? Do you know who laid the glacial stone foundation and when? Maybe it is our Springhouse that intrigues you, our Herb Garden, or our Sugar House. Of course, if you love animals, Aullwood's animals will charm you off your feet! Come prepared to walk the grounds, explore the barn, visit the Springhouse and our animals with Environmental Educator Bev Holland. Chipmunk Adventures for Preschool Children (Members and Non-Members)

The Chipmunk Adventures classes are hiking into fall fun at Aullwood! This month our Chipmunks will have fun painting with grass, string, sticks, sponges, and bubbles using berries, beet juice, and more! Children will explore the farm, woods, creek, prairie, and meadow through hands-on and cognitive learning experiences created for our youngest learners. Stories, songs, artwork, and “chipmunk style” hikes on Aullwood’s trails will open up a new sense of wonder and excitement. Classes begin outside under the Farm Pavilion. Please dress for the weather. You can register for classes online. For more information call 937-890-7360.  Chipmunk classes are for 2–5 year olds accompanied by an adult. Bev Holland will be the educator for these classes which meet on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

October 11 - “Funny Brushes and Crazy Paint”

November 8 - “Did the Woods Call Your Name?”

Cost: Individual classes are $25.00/Members and $30.00/Non-members. Pre-registration online is required and class limit is 8 child-adult pairs for a total of 16 participants.  (4 minimum) (Farm)

Member Appreciation Day (Members Only)

Sunday, October 15, from 9:00 a.m-1:00 p.m. Mark your calendar for this special Member Appreciation Day at Aullwood Farm! This event will be an exclusive opportunity for Friends of Aullwood members to enjoy a fun morning at Aullwood Farm. We will have tractor-pulled wagon rides in the pasture, engaging children’s activities and games usually found only at Aullwood's festivals with Bev Holland in the Discovery Center auditorium, and more!

Thirty minute Guided Nature Hikes will happen at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. with Sam Romeo, Chris Rowlands and Arras Wiedorn. Walk the trails and visit our trolls, explore the barns and meet our livestock ambassadors, or investigate the Nature Nook in the auditorium with our Aullwood educators! Our new electric golf cart will provide members with enjoyable rides to Bodil the troll and trips along the trails at the farm. Tasty donut holes, coffee and juice for the kids will also be available inside the Farm Discovery Center!

We are very grateful to our members who make it possible to serve the greater Dayton community with engaging, hands-on environmental education programs that inspire and teach about conservation, birds, wildlife and protecting our beautiful earth. Nature Photography Walk (Everyone Welcome)

Saturday, October 28, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Grab your camera and come enjoy the beautiful fall scenery! Join Arras Wiedorn, Manager of Public Programs, who is an avid nature photographer and will help you find and take great shots along Aullwood's nature trails. Participants must bring their own camera, and may arrive at 9:30 a.m. if they need some help figuring out their photography equipment.
