What is your business name?

I am retired. Prior to retirement, I worked for over 29 years for Penny Power Publications, Inc., which had direct mail publications in both Auburn, Grass Valley and surrounding communities.

What does your business provide?

I started selling advertising in 1981, but since I am now retired, I provide some history of the long term successful businesses still thriving today!

What is your favorite part of being an Auburn Chamber Ambassador?

I like the opportunity to meet new business owners and to find out more about them. It is also a great way for me to stay connected to Auburn to the community I worked in for so long. I have enjoyed representing the Auburn Chamber for over 40 years and all the great relationships I have made with other ambassadors, business owners and chamber staff.

How has being an Ambassador impacted your business?

Because my staff and I worked directly with business owners, it was important to be an ambassador. I felt that the business owners were glad to know we weren't just there to sell them something, but that we cared about their success and their reasons for being in business.  Plus, with our connections with other businesspeople, we were able to help promote the new or existing businesses.

How has being a Chamber member impacted your business?

When we started the Penny Pincher in late 1981, we joined the Auburn Chamber of Commerce almost immediately. It brought us credibility in the community and over the long run, lots of success for many years!
