Business Pollution Prevention
Protecting Local Waters

New City Program
We are building a program that requires existing businesses and all publicly owned sites in Auburn, to take measures to stop water pollution. When contaminated runoff enters the stormwater system it is carried to local waters.
This program is a requirement of the Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit that is issued to the City by the Department of Ecology.

Having a spill kit at your business is a BMP.

Business Site Inspections

Site inspections are designed to help businesses comply with the required implementation of best management practices (BMPs).

During a typical inspection, inspectors will do the following:
Visit parking, loading, storage, and process areas.
Inspect the private storm drainage system for signs of pollution or maintenance needs.
Check to ensure that appropriate BMPs are being implemented.
If the inspectors find something that is out of compliance with BMP guidelines they will make recommendations for how to correct it and offer technical support. The inspectors will work with the businesses to address the problems and assist in any needed areas.

Site inspections will begin in 2023 and be prioritized by site activities and risks to local water ways.

5th Annual Christmas Toy Store

REVIVE is excited to host the 5th Annual Christmas Toy Store giving away thousands of toys to families in need in our community. This year REVIVE, with the partnership of many local businesses, is looking forward to servicing more families than ever before.
