Arlington Arts Center - Over 150 Programs And Counting

Arts and Entertainment

May 30, 2022

From: Arlington Arts Center

Have you noticed that AAC has dramatically increased its activities this past year?

We’ve worked tirelessly to create new programs, exhibitions, and partnerships to connect audiences of all ages to extraordinary contemporary art and artists from our region and beyond.

Our recent Just for Kicks: Teen Artists Paint Sneakers brought together some of our area’s most talented teen artists to paint sneakers for the public and for donation to the Wanda Alston Foundation, a local shelter that helps at-risk LGBTQ teens.

We also hosted a Jazz Journeys series featuring local musicians leading roving tours where they performed improvisational jazz in response to the works in our galleries.

And, we launched a Global Spotlight exhibition series, the first of which featured work by Annabel Daou. This series highlights cutting-edge international contemporary artists whose work inspires audiences around the world.

And recently, we’ve partnered with Arlington high schools to feature our Arlington Spotlight exhibition where you can see the wonderful creativity of our community’s teens.

These are just a few examples of the over 150 different exhibitions, public programs, and art-making classes we’ve offered this past year and we need your help to continue to grow!

AAC has ambitious plans in the year ahead and we’d love to have your additional support as we near the end of our fiscal year on June 30.

Can we count on you to make a generous tax-deductible gift of $50, $125, $250, or more today?  If we raise $16,000 by June 30, a group of former and current board members will match your donation, doubling the impact!

Stay tuned for more upcoming programs in June, including artist talks, family days, and a special reception for recent donors on Friday, June 17!

Many, many thanks for all your support! We really appreciate it!
