This month we’re visiting the San Fernando Valley, home of hippie housewives, adult entertainers, and mall-loving teens. Though the Valley became a high schooler’s haven with the release of Frank Zappa’s “Valley Girl” in the early 80s, homegrown majors like Disney and Warner Bros. have also produced a legacy of titles exploring the stagnant middle class that comes of age there and their particular brand of sun-soaked ennui.
