'Bleak Week: Cinema of Despair - Year 2'

The American Cinematheque is proud to announce the second annual ‘Bleak Week: Cinema of Despair,’ a weeklong festival that spotlights some of the greatest films from around the world that explore the darkest sides of humanity. This year’s program includes 35 films from 20 countries. Archival prints, premieres of restorations, live guests and more.

We are thrilled to welcome legendary filmmaker Béla Tarr as our guest of honor with in-person appearances over the closing nights of the festival. Additional in-person screenings will soon be announced, as part of the retrospective, 'Boundless Damnation: The Films of Béla Tarr'
