This July, there are plenty of ways to participate, connect, and discover with your library!

For the artistically inclined, participate in our 10th Annual Adult Summer Art Show and submit original works to be displayed at the Headquarters Library. Connect, learn, and play during Summer at the Library programs with guest presenters and performers. Discover summer STEAM activities at your local library branches. You can also register to vote at your library and get election information from the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office. 

Join Us for Summer Programs

Participate, connect, and discover during this year's Summer at the Library with guest presenters and performers throughout July! 

-Starting July 1, join us for Animal Tales, a live animal education company that provides safe and entertaining programs for all ages. 

-The Didgeridoo Show, starting July 5, is an energetic fusion of Australian music, comedy, character-building, storytelling, and audience participation.

-Starting July 5, join local cartoonists during the Sequential Artists Workshop for an hour of comic-making for teens! 

-Starting July 7, patrons can explore natural phenomena and how they occur with Science Surprises.  

-Starting July 11, Zookeeping 101 is presented by the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo and its animal ambassadors to teach about zookeeping.

-Just Add Rhythm!, starting July 25, is an interactive and engaging program that encourages patrons to be creative using music and rhythm.

-On July 26, join Shana Banana for songs, dance, and our own Good Energy Music together.

-On July 27, GiGi and Friends celebrate their love of comedy, sing-alongs, and circus in this 30-minute performance packed with fun for all.

Register to Vote

The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office will be at multiple branches of the Alachua County Library District from Wednesday, July 5, to Wednesday, August 16. The SEO will be registering residents and providing election information to voters in Alachua County.

The schedule for the Supervisor of Elections Office's library visits this summer is as follows:

-Wednesday, July 5, at 10:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m.

-Tuesday, July 18, at 11 a.m.—1 p.m.

Micanopy Branch

-Tuesday, July 25, at 10:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m.

Summer STEAM Activities

Come join us for interactive science activities and experiments with our STEAM programs! Discover different science, technology, engineering, art, and math challenges during these family-friendly events.

Drop in and use our collection of LEGO bricks to bring your designs to life with LEGO at the Library. Learn how to create your own chigirie-inspired artwork with STEAM: Painting with Paper. Participate in the Summer of Science - Kids STEAM Activities. Join us for fun new STEAM activities for elementary school kids with Summer STEAM Time. Put your building and engineering skills to the test in TinkerSpace. Work as a team to construct a cardboard castle with our Bots and Blocks - Corrugation and Collaboration program. Teens can unleash their creativity and learn new skills with MakerSpace boxes in Teen Space

Share Your Art

Calling all adult artists! Patrons are invited to submit their original artwork to our 10th Annual Adult Summer Art Show starting July 1 through July 30. This year, we are offering two ways to showcase your talent. You can enter your artwork virtually by email with a completed entry form or drop it off at the Headquarters Library.  

A showing of submitted artwork will be displayed on the Foundation Room wall. Artwork will also be displayed on the library's website and its social media sites, including FacebookFlickr, and Instagram.

Morningstar Investment Research Center provides a one-stop tool for collecting financial information, getting reliable portfolio analysis, learning about investment options, and getting the most up-to-date financial news commentary. It provides analyst reports on thousands of stocks, mutual funds, exchange funds, securities, and hundreds of closed-end funds. 

Value Line is an investment research company collecting data and analyzing the performance of approximately 8,000 stocks, 15,000 mutual funds, and 80,000 options and other securities. Value Line is best known for their Investment Survey, a publication of full-page reports with analyst commentaries as well as Timeliness, Safety, and Technical ranks on approximately 1,700 large-cap companies.
