BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE, NY -- The Adirondack Experience Museum (ADKX) invites people of all ages to attend their upcoming winter events during the month of February. Featuring both indoor and outdoor activities, the museum is excited to offer the community a chance to learn about the Adirondack region and its history through games, workshops, and family-friendly programming.

ADKX WINTER FUN DAY: On Monday, February 19, the ADKX will be opening its campus for a special Winter Fun Day from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Families are invited to attend this fun event which will feature self-guided tours of the new Artists & Inspiration in the Wild exhibition, campfires and s’mores, hot chocolate, board games, and more. A special Guided Snowshoe Hike with naturalist Ed Kanze is available for an additional fee (space is limited). The ADKX Store will also be open during the program for guests to shop and explore.

TAPS & TRIVIA: Those interested in testing their Adirondack knowledge can compete in the museum’s next Taps & Trivia program on Thursday, February 22 at the Brown’s Walloomsac Taproom & Brewery in North Hoosick, NY. Offering a range of questions covering topics such as the Northville Lake Placid Trail, local legends, working in the woods, and more, this is the perfect night out for those looking to participate in some friendly competition.

ADIRONDACK AVIAN WALK: Wildlife photographers of all skill levels are invited to register for the Adirondack Avian Walk on Saturday, February 24, 5:45 AM – 1:30 PM in Long Lake, NY. This special off-site event will be led by wildlife photographer Brisbane Young and NYS Guide/President of Adirondack Avian Expeditions Joan Collins. Those who sign-up will explore different areas around the town while spotting, listening, and capturing images of the local bird population. After the program, guests will head to the Adirondack Hotel to warm up, relax, and enjoy lunch.
