City Meetings

The City Council and Council Committee will both meet on Monday evening. City Council will begin at 6 p.m. and Council Committee will begin after Council ends. Both meetings will take place at City Hall at 11110 Johnson Drive. Visit cityofshawnee.org/agendas to view the agenda or sign up to comment.

Tuesday is all about love and at the risk of sounding corny, we asked our staff what they love about working for the City. Here are a few of our favorite answers!

"I love working for the City of Shawnee! In my role, I am able to have an impact on the community. As a resident with family here this is exciting to me! I have made many great friends and I truly enjoy the people I work with (staff and community members)! I have never worked for a more supportive organization that consistently demonstrates that employees are valued."

-Elizabeth Griffith, Volunteer Coordinator

"I love connecting with the community every day and making sure everyone can be as engaged with the City as they'd like to be!" -Julie Breithaupt, Communications Manager

"I love getting to see the product of my work as I improve the quality of life for residents. The work not only interests and challenges me, but I get to do it alongside my work family and in an environment where I feel valued and supported." -Caitlin Gard, Deputy City Manager

"Every day is different! You never know what the day will bring." -Heather Inich, Customer Service Specialist

"I love working in an organization that values and tries new ideas. Being in downtown Shawnee near so many great places to eat and socialize is a huge perk, too!" -Colin Duffy, Assistant City Manager

"I love having the opportunity to work alongside people in 8+ different career areas." -Kellie Little, Senior HR Specialist

"I love that no matter what task is on hand, my coworkers and I find ways to have fun while getting work done. I also love engaging with the community in creative ways through social media and written content. Keeping the public informed is how I find joy and make a difference." -Celia Searles, Communications Specialist
