The Boston Wine & Food Festival features an array of events that will ignite your senses and lure you out of the house during the winter! Join us at the five-star Boston Harbor Hotel for our annual celebration! We offer wine dinners, intimate winemaker-hosted dinners, pop-up tastings, master class seminars, and more. This treasured event continues the tradition of welcoming top vintners and personalities from the world of wine and food.

The 34th Annual Boston Wine & Food Festival is proud to be partnering with two incredible non-profit organizations, The Greater Boston Food Bank and James Beard Foundation.

7pm - Dinner: Staglin Family Vineyard at Meritage Room

A portion of each purchase will be donated to One Mind in support of Brain Health

Kick off the 2023 Boston Wine & Food Festival with a special evening featuring one of Napa's most iconic wineries - Staglin Family Vineyard. Founded in 1985, this storied winery takes pride in the tradition of family ownership and participation. With an uncompromising commitment to quality, their mission is to produce world class Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay that reflect the distinctive character of this Rutherford Bench estate. As stewards of this land, they farm the vineyard organically, tap into their solar fields for power and produce the wines in a state-of-the-art underground production facility. Join Garen and Shari Staglin for an evening of storytelling and extraordinary wines. Chef David Daniels will create a masterful menu to celebrate the unique Staglin collection.

Influenced by their son Brandon's schizophrenia diagnosis, Shari and Garen Staglin launched One Mind in 1995 to bridge the gaps that they saw in mental health research funding and patient support. Since then, One Mind has become the leading brain health nonprofit committed to healing the lives of people impacted by brain illness and injury through global, collaborative action. At the helm of this groundbreaking work is Brandon, now the President of One Mind.

7pm - The Burgundy Dinner: Tour Côte d'OR at Meritage Room

Travel through one of the world's most celebrated wine regions - the Côte d'Or. We will be enjoying aged bottlings while touring the villages of this storied wines region, as we sip from Marsannay in the Côte-de-Nuits to Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte-de-Beaune. They are elegant, refined, earthy and with a distinct Burgundian style. The wines are storied, and the region is known for multi-generational family traditions.

6pm - Master Class: Exploring Burgundy's Aligoté With Eric Asimov at South Atlantic Room

Deep in the vineyards of Burgundy, a vine making a comeback. The Aligoté grape has been revived by the top winemakers of Burgundy's Côte d'Or, and it is truly a renaissance! Once the base for the Kir cocktail, now it is a way to honor the past and look forward to future generations of winemakers. This grape, when grown with care and respect, and made conscientiously into wine, Aligoté can be beautifully rich and minerally, and can age for years. Join New York Times Chief Wine Editor, Eric Asimov and Boston Wine & Food Festivals own Nick Daddona to taste the reason why so many Burgundy producers consider this the "hidden gem."

The Northern Rhône Seminar and Wine Dinner

Northern Rhône is known for its cooler climate producing some of the most stunning wines in the world. This small sub-region features red and white wines featuring Syrah, Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne grapes. Join New York Times Head Wine Writer, Eric Asimov for an insightful taste and travel through the appellations of Northern Rhône.

So distinct are the wines from these microclimates, that while the grape varietals are the same, the wines are very distinct to their location. "What would be the basis for the differences? Soils, drainage, microclimates, elevations, angles of inclination toward the sun, viticulture and, yes, the human element, all play a role. Terroir, in short." Economics and politics are included in this exploration. This deep dive into the Northern Rhône Valley will feature some of the best expressions of these interesting appellations - paired beautifully with the creative cuisine of Executive Chef David Daniels.

The mighty Rhône River gives its name to one of France's greatest wine growing regions - really two distinct areas: the North with its varietal Syrah and Viognier wines, and the South, home to the Grenache grape, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and so much more. Like Rock 'n' Roll, the wines of the Rhône provide power, depth, and a message. Join us as we taste from the more famous appellations of the Rhône and pair the wines - not to food - but to our favorite songs. You just might end up singing your way through the rest of the day!

7pm: Dinner - "The Saints" Bordeaux Dinner at Meritage & Atlantic Rooms

Saint-Emilion, Saint-Julien, and Saint-Estephe. These Saintly appellations of Bordeaux produce many of the region's greatest wines from its top Chateaux.

Saint-Emilion is the Food-Friendly Saint. Located on the Right Bank, Saint-Emilion produces wines that are approachable young thanks to their rich, ripe-berry, and texturally smooth character. Saint-Julien is the Elegant Saint. The smallest of the Left Bank appellations, it produces what may be the best representation of what the region has to offer. The wines are typically cabernet-sauvignon dominant blends that marry the power of the noble grape with the finesse of a great terroir. Saint-Estephe is the 'Power' Saint. The wines from this cooler growing zone tend to have more structure, more blue and black fruit character, and a touch of spice.

7pm: Dinner - Hitchhiking Through Napa With Kevin Zraly at Meritage Room

In 1972 Kevin Zraly embarked on an adventure in the California wine country... His goal was to learn as much as possible to launch a career in New York Wine. With a few dollars in his pocket and a head full of dreams, he succeeded in becoming one of the top sommeliers in all the world, later heading Window's on the World, the legendary wine destination restaurant at the World Trade Center in New York City.

We will follow his footsteps (and his hitchhiker's thumb!) as we taste wines both young and old, from some of the most storied wineries in Napa Valley. Be prepared for an evening of laughs, stories of wine country, and of course: Chef Daniel's fine cuisine to pair with these wonderful wines. Unquestionably one of the greatest names in the French region of Alsace, the Trimbach family has been producing wines of great renown for over three centuries. The wines from F.E. Trimbach are prized for their depth, balance, and timeless character.

Join Jean Trimbach, 13th generation family member, as he guides us though tastes and storytelling of this legendary wine producer. The beautiful wine region of Alsace is situated amongst the rolling hills and quaint medieval villages of northeastern France. The Trimbachs have a purist vision, producing wines that are structured, long-lived, fruity, and elegant. Bottles remain in the cellar for several years before reaching the marketplace, ensuring the wines are both ready to drink upon release but also hold great aging potential.

7pm: Dinner - Judgement Of Paris at Wharf Room

Who has the better wine: California or France? Join us for an interactive evening where you get to judge!

"Judgement of Paris" was a legendary tasting which took place in Paris in 1976. For the first time, California wines beat out their French counterparts from Burgundy and Bordeaux ( in both white and red) blind tastings. It was the tasting that revolutionized the wine world. Enjoy a French wine and a US wine with each of the four dinner courses. Guests raise a flag ( France or US) after each course, casting their vote for each wine pairing.

The evening begins with two glasses of bubbles- Champagne or CA? Ignite your senses at this entertaining and educational dinner!

Cain Vineyard & Winery Seminar And Dinner

Cain Vineyard & Winery is a spectacular site, cradled in a bowl overlooking the Napa Valley from the top of the Spring Mountain District. It is up this narrow and 'wine-dy' road that the dynamic duo, Christopher Howell, and Katie Lazar have built an incredible outpost focusing on land, soil and sweat. Chris masters the process from the vineyard to the winery, while Katie charts a course through people and commerce. Known for balanced and earth-driven Napa blends, they pioneer projects which include their NV to their Cain 5, conceived to highlight five traditional Bordeaux varieties. Prior to Cain, Howell honed his craft at Mouton Rothschild, Clos du Val, and Peter Michael. He studied viticulture and enology at the School of Agronomy in Montpellier, France. Join us to experience the true 'salt of the earth' people creating wine high atop the mountains of Napa Valley. This four-course dinner will feature an artfully designed four-course menu by Executive Chef David Daniels.

The evening will begin with a one-hour seminar for those interested in a more in-depth exploration of these stunning wines from Spring Mountain. Chris Howell is an historian, a farmer, and a creative winemaker. This seminar will be a "must do" for the serious wine lover.

7pm: Barolo Wine Dinner With Bava Piemonte at Meritage Room

Join us for a wondrous exploration of Barolos from Bava Piemonte. This four-course dinner will feature the famed Barolo wines - named for their location in Piedmont, northwest Italy.

The hills of Piemonte are famous for producing fragrant, tannic red wines, made entirely from the Nebbiolo grape variety. The Bava family has cultivated vineyards in Cocconato, since 1600 and in 1911 built its first winery. Since the creation of the Cocconato winery, more than one hundred harvests have now passed, and six generations have alternated. Bava cultivates their vineyards with environmentally friendly methods in the three farms of Cocconato, Agliano and Castiglione Falletto, which for generations have been producing excellent and unique wines. Tradition, Family, Storytelling... an evening of Barolo that will be unforgettable.

Join us for a captivating dinner featuring the wines of Knights Bridge Winery from Sonoma County.

In 2006, several close-knit family members discovered 50 acres of hillside vineyards in Knights Valley, the perfect spot to produce exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Knights Bridge vineyard is nestled on the pristine west side of Knights Valley, the warmest appellation in Sonoma County. This hidden gem produces stunning wines adhering to sustainable farming methods and yielding small lot productions. Opus One was conceived as the joint brainchild of Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, after they first met in Hawaii back in 1970. Their vision was to combine their expertise in Old World and New World winemaking, to pioneer a blend that was greater than the sum of its parts... Join us for an unforgettable evening on Thursday, March 30, featuring incredible wines from BOND Estate in Napa Valley, complemented by a four-course menu prepared by The Boston Harbor's Executive Chef, David Daniels. BOND: A portfolio of wines that are diverse in their geographic representation and 'Grand Cru' in quality, all under the umbrella of one philosophy, one team, one mark. Sourced from select hillside estates, the Cabernet Sauvignon wines of BOND vividly demonstrate the range of Napa Valley's finest terroirs. The portfolio is overseen by the Harlan Family of Harlan Estate and Promontory wineries.

We welcome Max Kast, BOND's Director of Estate, to guide guests through the rare opportunity to taste every cru of Bond next to the same cru with 10 years of age. Over the past quarter century, the Harlan family has strategically acquired 80 of some of the best vineyard sites in Napa Valley. Of these 80, five were selected to have Grand Cru quality expressions and all five will be featured at this dinner.
