Experience the Fourth of July like never before. A week-long full of activities for the whole family including a Fourth of July Parade, Fourth of July Carnival, Illumination of the Mountain & a Live Boat Dock Concert!

Schedule of Events:

FRIDAY, JUNE 30, 2023

Tomahawk Throwing
3:30pm

Join us for some outdoor summer fun! This will be a hands-on lesson teaching you the basics of tomahawk throwing.

Limit 30. Sign up required-no earlier than 24 hours in advance. Please call 845-256-2186 to sign up. No late admittance. Ages 13 and up. Closed-toe shoes and masks are required.

Kids’ Club
7pm – 8:30pm

Join Rainbow and Elbow the Clowns for an evening of group songs, improvisation, and fun! Ages 4-12, drop off program.

Live Music and Barn Dance with the Eric Hollman Band
9pm

Join professional dance caller Eric Hollman for a great night of traditional and family-friendly American contra, square, and circle dances to a live fiddle band! No experience is necessary, and fun for all ages!

Evening Campfire, S’mores, and Music
9pm – 10pm

Join local musician Linda Richards for an evening of family fun and songs by the campfire with roasting a delicious marshmallow treat!

SATURDAY, JULY 1, 2023

Kids’ Club
9:30am – 12:30pm

Choose your adventure whether inside or out. Kids will be exploring the trails and rugged paths, such as Humpty Dumpty one of our rock scrambles for ages 7-12.  Children always have a choice of getting crafty if hiking or scrambling if not for them. The fun doesn’t stop there, call for further details, ext. 2186 from a guest room phone. Ages 4-12, drop off program.

Family Archery
9:30am

Join us to learn the basics of Archery with our skilled staff.

Guided Rock Scramble
10am

Guided rock scramble through the labyrinth ending at Sky Top Tower.  2 miles. Proper footwear is required. Ages 7 and up.

Guided Mountain Bike Ride
10:45am

Take a tour of the mountain on wheels! $35 mt. bike or $75 for an E-bike & helmet rental fee. Arrive 15 minutes early for fitting. Ages 16 and up. 4-6 miles.

Archery
11am

Enjoy a hands-on experience with nature walks with our Children’s Counselor for our Junior Naturalist program or get crafty with some festive holiday crafts. The fun doesn’t stop there, call for further activities offered in this session. Ages 4-12, drop off program.

Celebrate the 4th of July weekend with a Red, White, and Blue Party! Dress in theme for dancing, games, prizes, and more! A perfect ‘Kids’ Night Out’ celebration. Ages 4-12 only, drop off program.       

Breakaway Band with Robin Baker
9p.m.

This five-piece band features the spell-binding vocals of local legend Robin Baker and delivers a mix of rock, soul, and country with a lot of heart! Come and dance the night away with your new favorite band!

Magician Ran’D Shine

Enjoy a mind-boggling evening of magic with Ran’D Shine! Ran’D is known for performing “Real Magic for Real People.” In other words, no smoke, no mirrors, just refined and spectacular entertainment. He was named three-time College Magician of the Year, and has appeared on the CW network’s Penn & Teller: Fool Us. and Masters of Illusions.

Rhett Miller and the All Stars
9pm

Rhett Miller, front man for the legendary Texas rock and roll band Old 97’s, brings a new lineup of all-star players to perform a selection of songs from his vast catalog, as well as the songs that influenced him – from Neil Young to David Bowie and beyond.

TUESDAY, JULY 4, 2023

Come dressed in Red, White, and Blue for a fun and active holiday morning. Festive Fourth of July crafts and games all morning on this special day. Log Roll Challenge Round 1

Come compete in our annual log roll challenge. The top 2 from each age group will advance to the final round at the 4:30 p.m. Water Show. Ages 7-12, 13-17, and 18+. An assumption of risk form is required for all participants.

Trumpet Across the Lake
12pm

From 1902 until the mid-1950s, bugle calls were performed daily throughout the summer to announce meals and entertainments. We are pleased to recreate this tradition on the Fourth of July with trumpeter Aaron Flagg. Best enjoyed from the East side of the House facing Lake Mohonk.

Parade Formation Location
2pm

If you want to march in the parade, please join us as we form the parade order. Come dressed up in costume or your favorite red, white, and blue attire! We step off promptly at 2:15 p.m.

Fourth of July Parade
2:15pm

Gather around the Putting Green to watch our annual Fourth of July Parade!  Clap your hands to the sweet sounds of “The Hudson Seven” Riverboat Marching Band as you cheer for our parade line, including employees in costume, participants decked out in red, white, and blue, and the Mohonk Fire Truck!  If you want to march in the parade, please join us as we form the parade order just outside Valet at 2pm.  We step off promptly at 2:15pm.

Fourth of July Carnival
2:30pm – 4pm

Directly following the Parade, follow our Riverboat Marching Band and head to our carnival for more fun!  Popcorn, caricatures, and games abound alongside tastes of our local Hudson Valley Vendors. Make sure to snap a family photo in this year’s photo booth!

4th of July Water Show
4:30pm

Join us for this annual Mohonk tradition of family-friendly water competitions including porch diving! Ages 7 and up can participate in their age category with parental permission.

Registration is required to participate in the Water Show.
Parents must sign up their children between 9:30am – 3:30pm at the Information Summerhouse located across from the Boat Dock. Guests will receive a wristband after they have registered which must be worn to participate

Trumpet Across the Lake
6pm

Boat Dock Concert: “The Hudson Seven” Riverboat Band
7:30pm – 8:45pm

Take in the beauty of Lake Mohonk and begin the evening festivities with the Riverboat Band, a Hudson Valley-based group directed by saxophonist Jason Clinton. Their acoustic and brass melodies will be an incredible kick-off to the Illumination Ceremony.

Illumination of the Mountain Ceremony
9:15pm

As dusk settles, a peaceful reflection of brilliant color glows from rocky ledges to a cliff-bound lake. A live musical performance paired with a spectacular fireworks display by Legion Fireworks is a unique way to celebrate July 4th. Readings by Tom Smiley and Eric Gullickson.

Join us after the show for a great night of traditional and family-friendly American contra, square and circle dances to a live fiddle band! No experience necessary—fun for all ages!

WEDNESDAY, JULY 5, 2023

Drop off your kids for one more final session while you pack! Kids will enjoy an easy relaxing and laidback session exploring the grounds or getting crafty. Ages 4-12, drop off program.
