The 19th Annual PASTY FEST

Come To Downtown Calumet To Celebrate The Magical Product Of Cornish Cookery, The Pasty!

A festival dedicated to the iconic Yooper dish is proudly hosted in historic Downtown Calumet! Join us for a Saturday of unique fun as we celebrate this Cornish influence in the U.P.!

Live Music and Entertainment ?In Downtown Calumet

PORTLAND and 5TH: 12:00-4:00pm: Kitschy Spirit Records - will DJ some tunes!

SCOTT and 5TH : 12pm- 4pm
OAK and 5TH: 12pm- 4pm

Pasty Eating Contest 3:00pm

It's not just how fast you can eat, it's how MUCH you can eat. Twelve contestants will have a shot to see who can eat the most pasties in 5 minutes! Eight contestants will be allowed to sign-up before hand and 4 lucky feasters will be hand selected the day of the event.
On-line sign-up is currently CLOSED and will OPEN JULY 22nd.

I'M READY TO EAT!

You Be the Judge! Pasty Bake-Off!
?You purchase a kit 5 - 4oz pasties, one from each of our commercial vendors and let us know what one is the best! Pasties will be individually marked, each with a different style of toothpick. You will return to the sales booth the tooth pick from the pasty you thought was best! We will only have 100 "kits" available so get to the Bake-Off Booth quick, at Oak and 5th!

12pm - 4pm: Cool Cars from Near and Far Car Show

For all the motor heads out there, compete or just come look!
Register on site from 10am-Noon, $10/car
All proceeds to benefit The Keweenaw Heritage Center at St. Anne’s.
Car show will be located in 100-200 Blocks of 5th St.
Prizes for Owner's Choice Custom Carved Trophy and People's Choice Car Care Basket

North End Flea:

Do you love things pre-owned, upcycled, or thrifty? Red Jacket General Store is hosting a Flea Market in the 400 Block of 5th! So, whether you're looking for a cool antique or a salad shooter you might find it here!

Vendors are wanted for this fun event. Set up is along each of 5th Street, in parking spaces. $20/3parking spots, must be paid in advance. Set up begins at 10am, no vehicles on street after 11:30am. Contact Rick or Mike Campioni in person at Red Jacket General Store of give them a call at (906)337-0446!

Kids Activities:

Calumet Community Garden
Bubble Machine - Parents, please consider bringing a towel, shoes and a change of clothes! The bubble machine will be set up in the 400 Block of 5th Street, north of Ramona's Bakery/LandL Bar. The garden shed will be available for use as a changing room.

Frozen Farms - 320 5th Street
Carnival Games - Look for bean bag toss, rutabaga bowling and a great family photo opportunity with the stand-in board.  

19th Annual Horseshoe Tournament in  Agassiz Park
Sign-up at 11am at the horseshoe pits in Agassiz Park (4th Street, Calumet), tournament to begin around noon
$10 per person, to be played in partners.

Cornish History at KNHP Visitors Center, 98 5th Street, Calumet
Calumet Visitor Center at  12:30 pm and 3:00 pm.

Cornish immigrants have influenced Copper Country history and culture for nearly 200 years. Join Sean Gohman and Jo Holt as they discuss the push-and-pull forces that compelled men and women to leave Cornwall for the Keweenaw, explore Cornish history and culture in the early mining frontier, and learn about a growing partnership to preserve and interpret this history in the UK and here in the Copper Country.

In addition, enjoy the regularly scheduled ranger programs that will start at the Visitor Center at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm (and at Quincy Mine at 5:00 pm).
