Noon – 12:30pm - Newport Daffodil Days Opening Ceremonies At Clarke Cooke House On Bannister’s Wharf

Historic Clarke Cooke House On Bannister’s Wharf Will Be The Scene For A Dazzling Daffy Musket Salute By The Artillery Company Of Newport That Signals The Beginning Of Newport’s Daffodil Days. Newport’s Mayor Xay Will Crown Our 2024 Daffodil Queen Who Will Then Cut The Daffodil Garland And Proclaim The Official Start To This Month’s Festivities. Daffy Music And Fun Activities With Lemon Treats For Young And Old Alike. Look For The Big Waving Daffodil To Greet You!

12:15 P.M. - Daffy Doggy Paw-Rade At Black Dog, Bannister’s Wharf

Dress Your Dog (And Yourself!) In Your Daffiest Duds And Join The Paw-Rade For A Yappy Good Time! The Paw-Rade Steps Off From Black Dog On Bannisters, Marching To Historic Queen Anne Square Where The Daffiest Dressed Dog And Daffiest Dressed Human(S) Will Receive Awards And Prizes.

8:00 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. - Rhode Races – “A Dash Past The Daffodils” At Easton's Beach

Join us in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon, half marathon or 5K (Just call it a Dash past the Daffodils). The Marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. at Easton’s Beach in Newport; the Half Marathon at 8:00 am and the 5k follows at 8:15 am – all from this beautiful seaside start. Pre/post your run, drop by the small park just East of Easton’s Beach for a magnificent picture backdrop of 25,000 daffodils fronting the Atlantic Ocean.
The marathon course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier. Don’t forget to designate Newport in Bloom as your desired charity! Visit the Rhode Races website to learn more and to register

TIME: The Marathon starts at 7:30 am, the Half Marathon at 8:00am and the 5k follows at 8:15 am – all from this beautiful seaside start.

Noon – 3:00 P.M. -  Daffy Fun At Miantonomi Park At Miantonomi Park, Hillside Avenue, Newport

With the park’s over 38,000 daffodils blooming for the first time, let’s celebrate their arrival with an afternoon of daffy, delirious, and delicious fun, including…

- A daffy bike decorating contest and parade along Bike Newport’s new Traffic Garden, with prizes for the daffiest bikes.

- The Daffy Dust- Up! Free, commemorative white T- shirts then get blasted with daffy colors as you dash through the daffy maze.

- A daffy, yellow merengue pie slam- down.

- Strolling the yellow carpets to a perfect picture taking spot among the thousands of bright yellow daffodils – the largest field in Newport.
 Music, storytelling, food trucks and more.

An afternoon of Free Daffy Fun for young and old alike!

9:30am - 5:30pm - SIP ‘N SHOP AT J.R. MCLAUGHLIN at J. Mclaughlin, Bellevue Avenue

J. Mclaughlin on historic Bellevue Avenue pays homage to Daffodil Days today. Have a glass of champagne then shop men’s and women’s classic clothes with a current relevance – and thank them for giving back to our Newport community. A percentage of all sales will go to Newport in Bloom.

9:30 - 11am - A DAFFY BIKE RIDE at Touro Park

Join your fellow bicyclists, young and old alike, for a leisurely ride past thousands of bright yellow daffodils. Decorate your bike (and yourselves) in your daffiest attire. Complimentary tickets to the I Scream Social for best dressed bikes – and bikers

Locaion: Touro Park (Bellevue Avenue between Mill and Pelham Streets)

10:30am - Noon - I Scream For Ice Cream Social At Cliff Walk At Mcauley Hall

Visit the bright yellow daffodil field on the campus of Salve Regina outside of McAuley Hall for picture-taking and then scream for your daffy ice cream delight! Donations welcome.

8:00 A.M - Driving Miss Daffodil Decorated Car Rally Followed By Audrain’s Cars & Coffee. At Easton’s Beach, 175 Memorial Blvd

Decorate your car with bright yellow daffiness, don your daffy best, and head down to Easton’s Beach for the start of a one-of-a-kind “Driving Miss Daffodil” car rally. Mix, mingle and gawk before the cavalcade rolls off.

Miss Daffodil and the folks from the Audrain Automotive Museum will lead you and your daffy dolled-up wheels as you cruise along a picturesque route to Ocean Drive and back along historic Bellevue Avenue, ending at Second Beach in Middletown with front row parking at the ever-popular Cars & Coffee. Prizes for Daffiest dressed cars (and drivers!). Proceeds benefit Newport in Bloom.

11am - 5pm - Sip 'N Shop At Sara Campebell At Sara Campbell, 115 Bellevue Avenue

The wonderful folks at Sara Campbell create small, mindful women’s collections right here in the USA with their customers and community at the center of it all, as evidenced by their support for Daffodil Days. As Sara herself says “A smile, a special dress (and a daffodil) can brighten even the gloomiest day.”Stop in for a glass of bubbly, shop and thank them for giving back to our Newport community. A percentage of all sales will go to Newport in Bloom.
