You will see current and alumni Royal Family and Vulcans, along with Klondike Kates, the Royal Guard and Saint Paul Winter Carnival fans, all for an evening of fun and merriment before the start of the Winter Carnival.

Join the Former Queens in honoring our 2023 Aurora, Queen of the Snows, Jocelyn O’Neill!
11am Social hour with Cash Bar
12pm Tea Luncheon including Queen Jocelyn’s farewell speech, fishbowl questions answered by the 2024 Queen of the Snows Candidates, a live dessert auction, and a chance to win a $2,000 gift card to R.F. Moeller Jewelers!
The tea will be held at the Royal Golf Club again this year.
Tickets are $45 per person OR reserve a VIP table of eight to secure premium seating directly behind the Royal Family, and a complimentary bottle of champagne to be served at your table for

5:30 p.m - 7:00 p.m: Light the Park- Kickoff to Carnival! Plus Laser Light Show at Rice Park
It’s official – the 2024 Saint Paul Winter Carnival is back, better than ever!  Join us at Rice Park and help celebrate the start of “The Coolest Celebration on Earth” on Thursday, January 25, 2024.  Gather your family and friends at Rice Park starting at 5:30 p.m., and at 6 p.m. there will be an AWESOME Laser Light Show. Then we will “Light The Park” with help from the Royal Family, the Vulcans and the community members that gather in the park.  The first 200 people to arrive at the park will receive glow wand to light up at 6 p.m. that night.  Have your own favorite glow stick or light-up item?  Bring it with and help us Light The Park!  The Royal Family will announce the kickoff to Carnival, and you can watch the ice carvers as they begin their beautiful ice sculptures, enjoy beverages at the ice bar, view the beautiful lights of Rice Park and the City of Saint Paul, and immediately after, more fun ensues with music, food and beverages!

Wonderfully presented by Marilyn DiMartino, this is a complete and varied display of Winter Carnival items throughout the years.  Visit with Marilyn and other volunteers who are very knowledgeable about the Saint Paul Winter Carnival. On display throughout the Winter Carnival at the North Gallery located on the First Floor inside Landmark Center.

5:00 p.m - 7:00 p.m: Music by Monique Blakey at Hamernick’s Entertainment Chalet at Rice Park
Singer-songwriter Monique Blakey hails from Saint Paul and is the niece of the Winter Carnival’s King Boreas LXXIV, the late Art Blakey and Prime Minister 2015 Carolyn Blakey.
Monique discovered her very large voice at the young age of five. From then on she had pursued a successful career in music. She has competed in local, national, and international adjudications and talent shows, and made it far in auditions for American Idol & The Voice. Monique has been a part of many local acts such as the lead singer of Sawyer’s Dream and the Award-Winning Gospel group The Remnant. Monique will be a featured performer in the heated Hamernick’s Entertainment Chalet- and you do Not want to miss her.
