In recognition of Earth Day/Earth Month, join the Rochester IKES and Conservation Minnesota for a spring workday at the Izaak Walton Wetlands. Volunteers will be using hand tools to cut/remove buckthorn on the wetlands property. Buckthorn is an invasive species. Invasive species can lead to the extinction of native plants and animals, destroy biodiversity, and reduce and alter wildlife habitat. Join us for light work, snacks, and camaraderie. Bring gloves, loppers and/or hand saws, water, protective eye wear, and sturdy shoes. We’ll have some extra tools on hand for those who need them. Please register in advance by April 25th. Parking is limited so we will coordinate carpools if needed. The wetland is located on the South side of Salem Road, 1 mile west of Mayowood Road.
