Olmsted Waste-to-Energy Open House

The Olmsted Waste-to-Energy Facility (OWEF) is celebrating its 37th anniversary with an open house on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Family-friendly tours will be offered between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Tours will show how Olmsted County uses the community’s garbage to create energy!

 

Visitors will be taken on a guided walking tour through multiple levels of the OWEF. Stair-climbing is involved; however, an elevator is available as needed. Casual attire is recommended. Sturdy shoes (no flip flops) are required.

 

The OWEF is located down the street from the Recycling Center Plus at 301 Energy Parkway NE, Rochester, MN 55906.

 

This is also a part of EarthFest 2024. EarthFest promotes this month-long series of partner events in the Rochester area that are offered by local environmental organizations, culminating in the EarthFest Expo on May 4 at Northrop Community Education Center, 9AM – 2PM.
