Karin Annika Blumofe, MD


Karin Blumofe, M.D., is a board-certified general surgeon at Baptist Health, specializing in a range of procedures, including laparoscopic surgery, advanced robotic surgery, removal of skin and soft tissue cancers or abnormalities, and abdominal surgery for hernias. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Blumofe worked as a private practitioner, using innovative laparoscopic and robotic techniques care for gallbladder, hernias, colon and gastric band surgery. After earning her medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine, Dr. Blumofe completed her general surgical residency at Loyola University Medical Center. In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Blumofe serves as an assistant professor at the Florida Atlantic University Medical School. She trains residents, mentors women in surgical residency and chairs “Women in Surgery” sessions. She is also a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. With more 20 years of experience as a general surgeon, Dr. Blumofe excels at using the most advanced technologies to help her patients. She treats each patient with the same compassion as she would treat her own family while personalizing their care.
