419 East Main Street
864-573-7684

Mission:

Mobile Meals glorifies God by providing nutritious meals, services, and fellowship to the frail and homebound citizens in Spartanburg County.

History:

With the vision of the founding executive director, Jayne McQueen, along with the influence of First Presbyterian Church and the Spartanburg County Planning Commission, Mobile Meals of Spartanburg began on October 3, 1977, serving 25 meals with 15 volunteers. Today we serve nearly 2000 residents with approximately 150 volunteers each weekday.

Mobile Meals is an independent 501-C3 non-profit organization which depends on contributions from businesses, churches, foundations, and individuals to meet an annual budget of more than 2 million dollars.

We are governed by a Board of Directors who has oversight responsibility for financial decisions regarding Mobile Meals. We are responsible stewards of our resources and operate with the highest level of accountability using an annual certified audit.

In 1985, President Ronald Reagan's Commission on Aging recognized Mobile Meals as a model program for the nation. In 1999 Congressman Jim Demit presented Mobile Meals of Spartanburg the first Spirit of Freedom Award.
