Lake Alfred Chamber of Commerce

115 E Pomelo Street
863-875-7800

We are located in the heart of The Sunshine State, nestled in a picturesque region of lakes and citrus groves. It is a wonderfully relaxed and safe place for you and your family to live and work and experience a great quality of life.

Lake Alfred's population is approximately 4,000 people. It is an incorporated city, operating under the Commission-Manager Plan. Full water and sewer systems are offered with ample capacity. Lake Alfred boasts a police department, a fire department, and an ambulance, located in Lake Alfred in the public safety building, all of which have quick response times.

Lake Alfred is a growing community with much open space for new businesses and industry. Residential growth has been approved north of our City toward Interstate-4, which will allow for environmentally friendly subdivisions to be built in the high and dry pastures of Florida's Green Swamp Region.

As a family oriented community, Lake Alfred provides excellent recreational facilities for its residents. Lion's Park is a paradise that offers swimming, boating, a children's playground, covered picnic shelter and tables, and barbecue grills. The City offers lighted tennis courts, lighted shuffle board courts, three lighted baseball fields and a two full-court lighted basketball courts. A public 9-hole golf course is available in the Cypress Greens Golf and Tennis Community. There is also numerous 18-hole golf courses located in close proximity.

Some of the most popular local activities are boating, fishing, and water skiing. These activities can be enjoyed year around on the hundreds of area lakes - the majority of which are spring fed. Seven of these lakes are in the City of Lake Alfred, with boat ramps and access to the north Winter Haven Chain of Lakes.

The strong presence of civic organizations greatly enhances the family orientation of Lake Alfred. Local residents are welcome to join the Lion's Club, Travelers Lodge, or Friendly Garden club. The Chamber of Commerce encourages all residents to participate in its events. Further community enrichment comes from the Historical Society and Ministerial Association.

As a group, all of these organizations sponsor community events such as Fourth of July Family Day, an Arts and Crafts Festival, and Heritage Day, to name just a few.

We are a proud business community with a mix of traditional retail/service businesses; industry; and the quickly growing antique shops, tea rooms; and specialty businesses. We have become a destination to those seeking to leave the City life for a while or for a lifetime. Our close proximity to Lakeland, Orlando, and Tampa gives us the best of a small town life and big City convenience as they are just a short drive away.

On behalf of the City of Lake Alfred, I invite you to stay awhile and enjoy our warm, relaxed atmosphere.
