Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church

208 7th Avenue West
828-693-6901

Immaculate Conception Parish today is comprised of over 1,500 families who worship in the splendid church that was consecrated by our former Bishop, William Curlin, on December 5, 1998.

The present church building incorporates many features that bear witness to the enduring faith, work, and sacrifice of those who began our parish in 1912 and built the faith community that we continue to this day.  Some of those features are:

The immense wall behind the altar of the main church—built of stone from the exterior of the previous church.

The pedestals of the altar in the Chapel of Our Lady of the Angels—made with the cornerstones of the two previous churches.

The tabernacle, lectern, Stations of the Cross, and pews in the chapel—all from the previous church.

The stained glass windows in the lobby and office area of the new church—preserved from the previous church.
