Mission Statement:

NCSD mission statement is "Every Child a Success".  Our vision at the Gabbs School is to foster a caring, multicultural, diverse learning environment where all persons are understood, respected, appreciated, and treated equally.  With this vision in mind the students from Gabbs/Yomba communities will move forward on a path wherein they can strive for a fulfill worthwhile lifelong goals and reach their ultimate potential.

History of the School:

Gabbs School was begun in the 1940's with classes held in tents.  The nice brick elementary  building  was completed in 1942 and the high school was completed in 1955.  Additions were made to the front of the gymnasium and the home economics room and three additional classrooms were added in 1975.  Our enrollment for the 2006-2007 school year began at 55 students K-12.    Last spring, our superintendent, Dr. Rob Roberts, made it possible for us to use Federal Impact Money to purchase some things for our school.  We have ordered a new basketball/volleyball scoreboard for the gym, some new folding chair holders for the gym, some new sewing machines for home economics, some new brushed aluminum letters for the outside of the gym and various other school supplies that weren't in our budget.  We really appreciate the help of our parents who live and/or work on the Yomba Reservation in filling out these forms that resulted in a good funding boost for our school.
