The Club was formed as a non-profit association on October 13, 1949. The Club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special edition cookbook in 1999. The Club has an annual display booth at the Polk County Fair. The Club has about 53 members, interested persons and honorary members. The honorary members are long-time members who made significant contributions to the Club and no longer pay dues.
