City Of Reedsport

451 Winchester Avenue
541-271-3603

Reedsport was incorporated in 1919 near the confluence of three rivers. Reedsport is located in the middle of the forty mile Oregon Dunes National Recreational Area. We are close to over 17 freshwater lakes and just four miles from the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the largest recreational fishing ports on the Oregon Coast.

An outdoor lovers's dream, the City has relied upon the timber and fishing industries as business mainstays for many years; however, new light manufacturing is becoming an important strategy in diversifying the local economy. Reedsport has agressively pursued a Riverfront Revitalization Project with an interesting visitors attraction at the Umpqua Discovery Center that was completed in 1999; with the "Tidewaters & Time" exhibit and expanded in 2006 to include a "Pathways to Discovery" wing.

Reedsport is located on the central Oregon coast at the intersection of Oregon Highway 38 and U.S. Highway 101, eighty-seven miles from Eugene, twenty-five miles North of Coos Bay, twenty-one miles South of Florence and seventy miles West of Roseburg.
