About Us

The City of Chiloquin is located at the confluence of the Williamson and Sprague Rivers in the heart of the Three Rivers Recreation area of Klamath County. The third river is the Wood River, which lies between Fort Klamath and Chiloquin. Abundant national and state forest lands surround the area, which is heavily studded with pine, aspen and cottonwood forests, rivers and lakes and stretches of fields, and is noted for its fishing, hunting, camping and skiing opportunities.

Although the closure of the lumber mills has changed Chiloquin from the rowdy boomtown it was during its formative years in the 1920s and 1930s, the now quiet little town has a population of forward-looking individuals who are working towards steady, controlled regeneration and the town is gaining respect among many in surrounding communities.

The town was incorporated in 1926.  According to the 2000 U.S. Census, the City of Chiloquin's population is 716.
