Growth: We value planned growth that will retain our small town atmosphere.

Public Safety: We value a professional service oriented public safety policy that promotes a sense of safety and security in our city.

Transportation: We value a system of transportation and infrastructure that is modern, efficient and sensitive to the environment.

Community: We value a clean and attractive city with parks, open space and recreational opportunities.

Service: Provide highest level of service possible in the most efficient and responsible manner.

Goals

The Council and Staff will fulfill the Mission by working to achieve the following goals:

• Enhance and protect Central Point's "small town" qualities: pride, safety, friendliness;
• Support programs and services to ensure the highest levels of public safety;
• Manage our community's growth, and strive for the best use of available land to improve the quality of life;
• Improve housing stock, encourage housing for a variety of economic groups; economically invigorate the business districts and revitalize the downtown;
• Provide for adequate City infrastructure including streets and transportation systems, water, storm drainage and sidewalks;
• Develop parks facilities and recreation programs for young and old;
• Strive for successful public/private partnerships with the business community, the school district, the library, and other regional governments;
• Create a unique identity for Central Point;
• Strive for excellent service to the community by supporting a staff of well trained, motivated and professional city employees;
• Improve communication with the residents and other partners of Central Point.
