Our Core Theological Beliefs

We believe that the Bible was revealed to man by God and is to be read, studied, obeyed and trusted.  The Bible is the focal point of all we do at Calvary.

We believe in one God, revealed in the Bible as a Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  They are identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and worthy of our worship.

We believe that Jesus Christ is both God and man; he was born of the virgin Mary without a human father; He lived a sinless life; He died on the cross in our place to save us from sin; He rose from the grave; today, He sits at the right hand of God the Father; and someday, He will come again to take believers to heaven.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God; He convicts us of sin; He places the believer into the family of God; and He gives guidance and instruction to the Christian in order to help us live as Christ lived.

We believe that the church is the place where God wants His people to worship, fellowship, learn His Word, minister to others, and from there, reach out into the entire world sharing the Bible's message of salvation.

We believe that Christians are those who have repented (rejected) and confessed their sins to God, asked for His forgiveness, and accepted His free gift of salvation.

We believe that there is only one way to God and to enter His heaven.  This can only be accomplished by placing our faith in God's Son, Jesus Christ; trusting and accepting in what he did for us on the cross.  We cannot do anything to earn our own salvation.

We believe everyone will spend eternity in one of two places; heaven is reserved for those who have trusted in Christ as their savior, and hell is for those who have rejected Christ as their Lord and Savior.
