Mission:

To promote interest in the visual arts by providing educational courses, workshops, and a friendly environment in which artists can work.

About Us:

The Artists League of the Sandhills is a non-profit organization located in historic downtown Aberdeen, North Carolina. Founder, Chuck Lunney's tireless efforts to establish an artist's workshop during the early 1990's, finally became a reality when he and Mike D'Andrea joined with twenty other artists on October 15,1994. The Town of Aberdeen generously donated an old storage terminal of the Aberdeen Rockfish Railroad that became their dream workshop on the "other side of the tracks." Currently the facility houses 45 artists-in-residence studios, a gallery, two large classrooms and a thriving membership of over two hundred.

The League provides on-going classes in a variety of media including drawing, pastel, charcoal, colored pencil, mixed media and painting in watercolor, oil and acrylic. Children's classes are also offered. In addition, the League offers three-day and weeklong workshops featuring nationally known artist/teachers.
