Englewood, NJ -- The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County (The Chest) presents 'A Journalist's Perspective' with TV news reporter Jen Maxfield. The public is invited to hear the Emmy-Award winning journalist and substitute anchor with NBC New York discuss her first book, More After the Break: A Reporter Returns to Ten Unforgettable News Stories, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Englewood Field Club. All attendees will receive a copy of her book.

The discussion is open to the public to provide an opportunity to learn about a journalist's life, while also obtaining insights into the stories behind-the-scenes of the news reported on television. Students interested in the fields of journalism or writing will be able to hear a local newscaster tell her story.

The discussion is part of a series of events planned to celebrate The Chest's 90th anniversary and continue its mission to lead initiatives and support nonprofits that make communities stronger and benefit people in need in eastern Bergen County. The event's net proceeds will benefit The Community Chest's Young Women's Leadership Program (YWL). Founded in 2017, the YWL Program provides competitive awards to outstanding high school juniors or seniors identifying as female and holds leadership workshops for the applicants.
