Adult Summer Reading Program Ends August 12th!

Last call for summer reading! All final entries for paper and virtual participants need to be submitted by August 12th to be eligible for raffle prizes. Winners will be notified the following week. Speed Reading Series
Wednesdays, August 2nd, 9th, 23rd & 30th
10:30am-12:00pm

Join Professor Nancy Shuster and learn how to increase your reading speed. You will double or triple your reading rate with good comprehension. Please bring an easy children's book to the first class. Select a book with large print and pictures. We recommend registering for all 4 sessions but it is not required. Author Talk w/ Meg Mitchell Moore!

Get your steps in and join us at the South County Bike Path! The group will meet at the entrance next to the Narragansett Community Center. In the event of rain the walk will be rescheduled.

Genealogy Club
Monday, August 7th- 6:00pm

Have you wanted to start searching for your ancestors but didn't know where to start? The Genealogy group meets at the library once a month and new members are always welcome! The group is made up of family historians interested in sharing resources and tips to accurately find their ancestors while helping others with their search.

Scrapbook Therapy
Tuesday, August 15th- 11:00am-12:30pm

Join us to start recording your own story with Scrapbooking! Beginners and experienced scrap bookers are welcome. Please bring your own photos and come set your creative side free. Libby is the reading app that allows you to check out eBooks and audiobooks from the library. Stop by during this time to get started with Libby, have questions answered, or get help navigating the app. No registration required & first come first served.

Beach Reads Book Swap
Tuesday, August 22nd- 4:30pm-5:30pm

Stop by the library after the beach for a beach reads book swap! Bring a book you no longer want to lend to someone else or come share what you're reading. Whether you enjoy chick lit, mysteries, thrillers or historical fiction we'd love to hear your recommendations for summer! The group will meet on the library lawn, weather permitting. Beach chairs welcome!

Adult Crafternoon: Painted Bird Feeders

Join us for an afternoon of crafting and relaxing! We'll have supplies available to paint your own wooden bird feeder! Registration is required & space is limited.

Join us for an afternoon movie and popcorn! This month we'll be showing A Man Called Otto! (2022, PG-13, 2hr 6mins)

Dancin' with Hoops!

Children ages 3 & up are welcomed to learn creative hula hooping with Ms. Judi! She combines hoops with dance, exercise, creative movement, and play to get the whole family involved! This event will be outdoors weather permitting. Registration required.

All ages are invited to see Mr. Ray and his fabulous reptiles! Mr. Ray brings in and talks about his lizards, turtles, snakes and other reptiles. Children have an opportunity to touch the animals if they choose. Registration is required.

Dungeons & Dragons Free Matinee!
Thursday, August 24th- 1:00pm

Ages 11 through adults are invited to our free movie matinee of the 2023 movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (rated PG-13). "A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic quest to retrieve a long lost relic, but their charming adventure goes dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people." Popcorn and juice will be provided!

Last call for jewelry donations! You can bring in your unwanted jewelry for the sale until August 7th. Anyone is welcome to join the Friends group for early access to the sale.

Friends Fundraiser w/ Pampered Chef
Cooking Demonstrations

Join us for a fundraiser to benefit the library! Pampered Chef is a company selling kitchen tools. A consultant will give two cooking demonstrations and tools will be available to purchase. A portion of sales will be donated to the library. Registration is required for each session.
