New "Spirits of the Past" Tours added by popular demand!

Breaking news! Two new dates have been added for HA's special October tour of the William Paca House, Spirits of the Past: Disease, Death, and Mourning. We advise you register now, before it's too late!

This seasonal tour of the William Paca House highlights sickness, treatments, and mourning rituals of the past. You’ll be guided through the historic home with a focus on the treatment of diseases, the medical practices of the women of the era, the contributions of the enslaved, local physicians, and the mourning rituals for their dearly departed. The tour continues in the physic garden to learn about the medicinal plants and their use during the 18th century and beyond. At the end of the tour, try a cup of sage tea and take home a recipe or two!

Due to its content, this tour is only recommended for ages 16+. Advance registration recommended, space is limited.

Location: William Paca House and Garden, 186 Prince George Street

Cost: $15 for General Admission; $12 for HA Members and Docents

FINAL WEEKEND! Historic Hauntings Ghost Tours
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Looking for ghost tours in Maryland? On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during the month of October, Annapolis Tours® by Watermark® is partnering with Historic Annapolis to offer Special Historic Hauntings.

Our spirited guide will lead you through the dark alleys, spooky side streets, and lesser-known haunted sites of the old and creaky town of Annapolis. Hear from real diary entries and newspaper articles of what frightened early 18th century folks. Also included is a stop inside historic Hogshead, where you will be immersed in the tales of those living in Annapolis during the Revolutionary War. Listen to stories of spirits that linger in the mist, and explore one of Annapolis’ best-known cemeteries. Special Historic Hauntings takes you back to a time of superstition and legend. And who knows, after a trip inside Hogshead, your own story may be added to the history of Annapolis!

Advance registration recommended.
