It brings me great pleasure to have the opportunity to welcome you to the city I love.

El Dorado is a truly distinctive community that is steeped in history but one that also forever looks toward the future. We have a downtown that exudes a quaint historic quality, but also has restaurants and shops that are uniquely contemporary. We are a community that enjoys entertainment as you can tell by the Murphy Arts District.  Any given weekend you can find music or other forms of entertainment that you would expect from a city much larger than ours………..

PJ'S NEW LOOK
The enticing aroma of roasted coffee beans has greeted customers at PJ’s Coffee for more than a decade, luring coffee lovers in for a wide variety of hot, iced and frozen coffee beverages, as well as fresh breakfast pastries and a variety of food options. PJ’s has become a staple in downtown El Dorado and a favorite
destination for locals and visitors alike. After 10 years in business, the time was right for a ‘re-fresh’ and adoption of the new PJ’s Coffee logo that features the ‘J’ hugging a coffee cup in its tail. In an impressive use of time, PJ’s closed for one week in January and reopened with a whole new appearance. The new look for El Dorado and all their stores “brings an upscale, post-modern aesthetic while continuing to pay homage to traditional New Orleans character,” according to the PJ’s website….­

PICKLEBALL
Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports across America and its popularity is growing rapidly in El Dorado as well. A combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, pickleball is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes – similar to a wiffle ball – on a badminton-sized court. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to pick up, but it also offers highly competitive matches for experienced players.….

June 16-19th

­Juneteenth is a significant holiday in the United States that commemorates enslaved African Americans' emancipation. Juneteenth Celebration will be from

June 16th through June 19th at various locations in El Dorado.

Dwight Yoakam
June 24th - 8:00pm
First Financial Music Hall
Two-time GRAMMY winner, Dwight Yoakam, will perform in the First Financial Music Hall on Saturday, June 24th. Doors to the event will open at 7:00pm and the concert will start at 8:00pm.  Tickets will be available at eldomad.com or by calling the MAD box office at 870-444-3007.
