JANUARY NATIONAL DAYS

January 6

National Cuddle Up Day -
Since January has some of the coldest temperatures of the year, it’s a great excuse to warm up by cuddling with those closest to you!

Day of Epiphany -
Epiphany is commonly associated with the day the Three Wise Men arrived at the manger and has several different names throughout history and cultures.

Armenian Christmas -
This holiday has been a part of Armenian traditions for more than 1700 years. Armenians celebrate the Epiphany of Christ, which is the revelation of Jesus Christ as the son of God rather than Christ’s birthday. Armenians celebrate this religious holiday by fasting, followed by feasts, including rice, nuts, desserts, and candies.

National Shortbread Day

Jeopardy Answer of the Day:
A: The letter "d"
(Remember to give your answer in the form of a question!)

Your question is at the bottom of the page.

SUGAR CREEK TIME CAPSULE NEWS

There isn't any because we never got to finish the celebration due to Covid.

There is still a chance of new variants of Covid being vaccine resistant, so, I understand the reluctance to gather in large groups again but I am looking for a few hardy folks that want to see this celebration finished in fashion.

The Time Capsule stone is in and on display in Council Chambers. Centennial letters continue to come in and are placed in the time capsule box in a safe and secure location.

Many of the planned activities were ready to go before Covid hit. Everything City activity we do during 2023 can be tied to the Centennial Year in some way.

Projects I need help in completing: Video/Audio recordings of residents from the 60s, 70s and before.  Indoor and outdoor activities that bring the community together in friendly competition. More memorabilia from 1970 forward that will fit in a 12x12x12 box. Any and all of your ideas that celebrate our 100+ years as a city.

My January calendar is filling up fast. Let me know who would like to resurrect the Centennial Celebration and when would be a good time to get started.

Thanks for your time, consideration and support.
