City Of Anaheim - U-Haul Stolen with 63-Year-Old Autistic Male Inside

ANAHEIM, Calif. (June 22, 2022) – Anaheim Police Detectives are requesting assistance in locating a stolen U-Haul box truck and a missing 63-year-old autistic male with the mental age of a four-year-old.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at around 2:20 p.m., the Anaheim Police Department Communications Center received a call of a stolen vehicle in the 3100 block of W. Lincoln Avenue. When officers arrived, they spoke with the reporting party, who explained a U-Haul box truck he rented had been stolen.

The reporting party further explained a 63-year-old autistic male, with a mental age of a four-year-old, was inside the vehicle at the time it was taken.

The missing elderly man has been identified as James Blackwood, a male, white, 6’03”, 170 pounds, last seen wearing a tan long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.

The U-Haul is a 2011,10-foot, GMC box truck with Arizona license plate: AE23468. The truck was last seen traveling northbound on Western Avenue from Lincoln Avenue, in the city of Anaheim.

The suspect in this incident is described as a female, white, with a thin build, long straight blonde hair, wearing a white bandana over her face.
