Stratford’s Dee Hiatt Is Featured Artist Thru December

A display of original work by Stratford photographer Dee Hiatt is the current art exhibit at the Stratford Library. The exhibit, entitled “Cell Phone Photography Project”, will be featured at the Library.

The Stratford Library will be displaying a collection of Hiatt’s cell phone photos in an interactive format. The photos are part of a project to demonstrate the ease and fun for a non-professional to take quality photos that need little to no editing. Hiatt’s background is in science and the human body, first as a respiratory therapy technician and then as a massage therapist and teacher. “I have also been drawn to performing as a mime and then as an improvising dancer”, she reveals. “Having several children and grandchildren has taught me the biggest lessons in improvising, often joyfully, and my husband is a major supporter of my wanderings.”

Hiatt says the more she observes - with her cell phone nearby - the more visual surprises she finds begging to be photographed. She will be available in the exhibit area of the library on Saturday, October 14 from 1-4 pm to share experiences and offer tips. A cell phone photography workshop is also planned at the Library on November 6.

Date: October through December 2023.
